AI Department Visits Stanford d.school — Reuniting with Design Thinking Mentors

Students from Cheju Halla University’s AI Department visited Stanford University’s d.school as part of the 2026 Global Space Bootcamp study tour. The visit brought them face-to-face with the very mentors who had traveled to Jeju in early January to lead design thinking workshops.

A Circle Inside the d.school Studio

Inside the d.school studio, students sat in a circle and shared what the January workshop in Jeju had meant to them. They articulated how design thinking had changed their approach to problem-solving and directly contributed to stronger results at the bootcamp hackathon.

Hearing students make those connections on their own — thousands of miles from Jeju — demonstrated the tangible impact of the educational program.

A Relationship That Spans the Pacific

Special thanks to mentors CJ, Seamus Yu Harte, and Miki Sode for their time. Both sides promised to meet again in Jeju. Short encounters like these may seem small, but they are the building blocks — connections become programs, and programs become ecosystems.
