Cheju Halla University Discusses KOICA AI Education Center Cooperation with Westminster University
A delegation from Cheju Halla University (led by Professor Young Joon Lee) visited Westminster University in Tashkent to discuss cooperation plans for a KOICA-supported AI Education Center project. The meeting focused primarily on providing practice-oriented AI education opportunities for students and working professionals in Uzbekistan.
Program Key Contents
- Specialized AI Education Courses: 16-week program including AI prompt engineering, data analytics, and data science
- Industry Cooperation: Azure certification provided through partnership with KT (Korea Telecom) and Microsoft
- Accessible Education: Reasonable tuition support including reimbursement opportunities upon completion
- Flexible Learning Environment: Evening lectures for working professionals
- Practice-Oriented Education: Hands-on experience based on real industry applications
This cooperation project will run for two years, initially selecting 20 students with the goal of training 60 participants in the first year. Westminster University will be responsible for appropriate student selection and academic support.
This meeting reaffirmed both institutions’ shared goal of nurturing AI talent, and both sides plan to continue cooperating so that practice-oriented AI education can contribute to the development of Uzbekistan’s technology industry.
