The Department of Artificial Intelligence at Cheju Halla University achieved outstanding results at the ‘2024 Semester 2 CLASS-UP Competition’ hosted by the Jeju Regional Innovation Platform. Students enrolled in the “Language Models and Natural Language Processing” course competed in this competition, with the Department of Artificial Intelligence sweeping the Grand Prize and other major awards, proving the department’s excellent educational capabilities.
With a total of 60 teams from universities in the Jeju region participating in this competition, the Department of Artificial Intelligence students achieved the following results:
Grand Prize

- Project: “Visualizing Competitive Dynamics and Influence Analysis Between Academic Papers”
- Key Content: Development of a system for visualizing and analyzing the relationships and influence between research papers using argumentation mining techniques
Excellence Award
- Recipients: Students Hong Seonggwan, Jang Nageom
- Project: “YouTube Lecture Assistant”
- Key Content: Development of an intelligent content summarization and interactive learning tool that enhances the online learning experience using AI technology
Encouragement Award
- Recipient: Student Lee Kyubum
- Project: “Automated Multi-Platform Content Generation System”
- Key Content: Implementation of an innovative system that automatically generates and distributes content optimized for various social media platforms
These awards are an achievement that demonstrates that the curriculum of the Department of Artificial Intelligence at Cheju Halla University is effectively cultivating practical project execution capabilities. In particular, the fact that students started from foundational concept learning and went on to implement complex AI systems that attracted the attention of industry professionals was highly praised.
The Department of Artificial Intelligence plans to further strengthen practice-oriented education and actively support students’ creative project development based on these achievements.
