Cheju Halla University Signs Regional Innovation Cooperation MOU with EINS S&C and Dassault Systèmes Korea
Cheju Halla University announced that on November 21, 2024, it signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with EINS S&C Co., Ltd. and Dassault Systèmes Korea Co., Ltd. for cooperation in the Regional Innovation System & Education (RISE) project.
EINS S&C Co., Ltd. is a company that develops leading-edge technology for the fourth industrial revolution and provides ICT convergence solutions. It possesses a platform and interface technology for digital twin implementation based on an independently developed integrated simulation engine. Dassault Systèmes Korea Co., Ltd. is the Korean subsidiary of the global software company Dassault Systèmes, which supports industrial innovation through advanced technologies such as 3D design and digital twins.
This agreement aims to build a mutual cooperation framework to promote the construction of a sustainable regional innovation ecosystem in Jeju Special Self-Governing Province and the successful execution of the RISE project, by utilizing the capabilities and resources of each institution.
The key cooperation items are as follows:
- Development and operation of industry-academia linked curricula in future new industrial fields in Jeju, including digital transformation, artificial intelligence, and aerospace
- Advancement of research and development and demonstration projects to resolve Jeju regional issues based on digital twin technology
- Operation of field training, internship, and employment-linked programs for cultivating locally-settled talent
- Mutual exchange of human and material resources to generate outcomes for the RISE project
Cheju Halla University President Kim Sunghoon stated, “Through this agreement, we have established a foundation for strengthening the linkage between regional industry and education and for nurturing specialized talent in future new industrial fields,” and “we expect to contribute to building an innovation ecosystem in the Jeju region through cooperation among each institution.”
Dassault Systèmes Korea Division Head Moon Gwido said, “We are pleased to be able to contribute to resolving regional issues using advanced technologies such as digital twins through cooperation with Cheju Halla University, and to support the enhancement of global competitiveness of regional companies.”
EINS S&C CEO Yang Youngjin also stated, “Through the development of leading-edge technologies for the fourth industrial revolution and cooperation with specialized companies, we will contribute to the sustainable growth and innovation of the Jeju region.”
Through this agreement, each institution plans to jointly advance research and development and education programs utilizing digital twin technology and AI, and to work on resolving regional issues and nurturing talent.
