IJCAI 2024 STAI Workshop Successfully Held

The ‘IJCAI 2024 Sustainable Transition with Artificial Intelligence (STAI) Workshop,’ hosted by the Jeju Regional Innovation Platform Intelligent Services Business Division and co-organized by Cheju Halla University and KAIST, concluded successfully. This workshop was a meaningful gathering where researchers, practitioners, and experts from around the world came together to discuss the future of sustainable solutions through AI.

Of particular note was the poster research presented by students Yang Pilseong and Lee Kyubum under the guidance of Professor Young Joon Lee of our department. The study, titled “Enhancing Promotional Review Detection in Naver Restaurant Reviews: Integrating Large Language Models with Location-Based Data in Jeju,” attracted the attention of participants as a real-world AI application case reflecting the unique characteristics of the Jeju region. This was a good example demonstrating that our department’s research focuses on developing practical AI solutions tailored to regional characteristics.
