STAI-IJCAI Workshop on Sustainability and AI to Be Held

The ‘Sustainable Transition with Artificial Intelligence (STAI) Workshop’, hosted by the Jeju Regional Innovation Platform Intelligent Services Business Division and the IJCAI-24 Organizing Committee, and organized by Cheju Halla University, KAIST, Stanford University, and the STAI Workshop Organizing Committee, is scheduled to be held at Jeju ICC on August 5.

This workshop will focus on the role and potential of AI in facilitating a just transition to a sustainable future. Under the principles of fairness, inclusion, and equity, discussions will take place from multiple perspectives on how AI technology can contribute across environmental, social, and economic domains.

In particular, AI application cases and methodologies for addressing practical challenges — such as robust data governance, corporate sustainability communication, and capacity building for small and medium-sized enterprises — are expected to be introduced. An interdisciplinary dialogue on the ethical development and use of AI will also be arranged.

With approximately 100 domestic and international experts in AI and sustainability expected to attend, this workshop will be a place to share the latest research trends and explore avenues for collaboration, as well as a forum for exchange and networking among industry, academia, and professional experts.

The paper submission deadline is May 7, and acceptance notifications will be sent on June 4. We look forward to receiving research containing creative and innovative ideas for driving sustainable development across society through AI. We encourage interested researchers to participate actively.
