Silver Award at the 2023 Smart Factory Consortium Creative Comprehensive Design Competition
Cheju Halla University’s Engineering Technology Education Innovation Center participated in the “2023 Smart Factory Consortium Creative Comprehensive Design Competition,” where 26 teams and approximately 170 participants from 11 consortium member colleges competed after selection rounds at each institution. The center received Gold and Silver Awards.
The Silver Award-winning team “Tuchi” (led by Lee Gyu-beom from the Department of Artificial Intelligence) presented “A Touch Monitor Using USB Webcams,” a work that combined stereo vision from two cameras with AI to detect hand movements in 3D and implement a touch interface — solving the cost issues of existing expensive touchscreen monitors. The work received excellent evaluations for the creativity and technical merit of its idea.
