The university will provide infrastructure including space and equipment for the Jeju AI Center, while Saltlux will provide its AI platform (software). Based on this foundation, both parties plan to jointly conduct AI research and program development and work to revitalize the Jeju regional economy through national project proposals. In addition, Saltlux employees will have the opportunity to recharge through a Workation program at the Jeju AI Center starting in the second half of this year, where they can combine work and vacation.

Both institutions will also actively engage in industry-academia cooperation activities. Cheju Halla University and Saltlux will support on-site training for students in AI-related departments at Cheju Halla University, and will develop and provide specialized AI education and employment-linked internship programs to strengthen AI expert capabilities and recruit local young talent.

Cheju Halla University President Kim Seong-hun stated, “In addition to pursuing AI talent development and industry-academia cooperation with Saltlux, an AI specialized company, we will build an industry-academia cooperation model that allows businesses and universities to grow together through Workation.”

Saltlux CEO Lee Gyeong-il said, “We are pleased to have established a cooperative relationship with Cheju Halla University, where we can create synergy from each other’s different strengths in technology, talent, and resources,” and added, “We will work to build a long-term, virtuous cycle of industry-academia cooperation.”
